The work
What the job actually involves
We build ponds, streams and boulder waterfalls using Nevada granite so the feature matches the country it sits in. Liner, underlayment, pump sizing, plumbing and rock placement are all part of the same job — a feature is only as convincing as the rock work around it.
We size the pump and filtration for the volume and the head height rather than guessing, so it runs quietly, moves enough water to stay clear, and doesn't cost a fortune to leave on.
The most common regret with a water feature is siting. People put them at the far end of the garden where they look good in a photograph and can't be heard from anywhere anyone sits.
Sound is the whole point. We'd rather build something smaller close to the patio than something impressive you only experience from the kitchen window.

We don't publish a price per square foot, because a number given without seeing the site is a guess that only ever moves upward. These are the things that genuinely change what this work costs — so when you compare quotes, you can see where they differ and why.

How much maintenance is a pond?
Real and ongoing — filtration, water balance, netting in autumn, winter care for fish. The people who love theirs enjoy the maintenance. If that doesn't sound appealing, pondless is the better call.
What does it cost to run?
Mostly the pump, which runs continuously. Sizing it correctly for the volume and head height rather than over-speccing makes a real difference to the bill.
Will it freeze in winter?
Built properly, it comes through fine. Pumps and above-ground plumbing get shut down and drained. We cover winterization.
Can I have fish?
In a pond, yes. Not in a pondless feature — there's no standing water for them to live in.
Where does the water come from?
It recirculates. You're topping up for evaporation, not running a hose continuously.
