What's different here
We take Reno work, and we do a fair amount of it — but the honest framing is that a 45-mile run makes more sense for a build than for a small repair. Hardscape, retaining walls, water features and full installs are where we're genuinely competitive up here.
Reno sits a few hundred feet lower than the Carson Valley, which takes a little of the edge off the winter, but the fundamentals are the same: dry summers, real freeze-thaw, alkaline soil and wind. Base depth and drainage matter exactly as much.

Slightly milder, not mild
Lower elevation means a marginally longer season and a slightly gentler freeze — but nothing that changes how a paver base or a wall needs to be built.

HOA-governed subdivisions
A lot of newer Reno development has design rules covering materials, plant lists and front-yard turf. Worth checking before design rather than after.

Development up the flanks means a lot of graded, terraced properties. That's retaining wall and drainage work, which is what we do most of.
