The work
What the job actually involves
We run weekly and bi-weekly maintenance routes across the Carson Valley. Same crew, same day each week, so your lawn gets cut at a consistent height instead of being scalped after three weeks of growth.
Mowing is the visible part. The rest — feeding on a schedule the season actually calls for, catching broadleaf weeds before they seed, keeping the irrigation tuned so you're not paying to water the sidewalk — is what separates a lawn that looks good in June from one that still looks good in August.
Most properties we pick up have been mown by someone, at some point, at whatever height the deck happened to be set. The lawn survives that but it never gets ahead — roots stay shallow, weeds find the gaps, and August does real damage every year.
A maintenance schedule is mostly about consistency: same height, sharp blade, cut before it needs it rather than after, and feeding at the points in the year the grass can actually use it. None of that is complicated. It just has to happen every week rather than when someone remembers.

Walk the property
We look at grade, irrigation coverage, sun and shade, and what the turf is actually doing before quoting a schedule.

Set a schedule
Weekly through the growing season, bi-weekly where that genuinely suits. Same day each week so you know when we're there.

Adjust with the season
Mowing height goes up for summer and back down before snow. Feeding is timed to the season, not a national calendar.

Flag things early
Broken heads, dry patches, disease and grubs get reported when we spot them, not after they've spread.

What moves the number
We don't publish a price per square foot, because a number given without seeing the site is a guess that only ever moves upward. These are the things that genuinely change what this work costs — so when you compare quotes, you can see where they differ and why.

Before you call

Do you mow year round?
No. Cool-season grass here effectively stops growing once it goes dormant. Regular routes run through the growing season, with clean-ups and winterization either side.
Will it be the same crew each week?
Yes, and the same day. That consistency is most of what makes a maintenance schedule work — they know the property.
Do you bag the clippings?
Usually not. Clippings are roughly 4% nitrogen and returning them feeds the lawn for free. They don't cause thatch. We bag if the lawn is diseased or got too long between cuts.
Do you handle fertilizing and weed control too?
Yes, and we'd recommend it — mowing alone doesn't fix a thin or weedy lawn. Pre-emergent timing in particular is easy to miss if nobody's watching for it.
What if I only want mowing?
That's fine. Plenty of customers do their own feeding. We'll still flag anything we notice.
